This Thursday we are hosting a FREE ‘fun SUP night’ with Naish ‘Nisco’ One Design inflatable Race Boards! They are bringing up a load of boards for us to try and learn new core skills, with some great SUP action, top paddling tips and fun races to finish off!
Anyone can come along so long as you have some experience on a paddle board.……please book your FREE place here!
When: Thursday 18th may
Start Time: 6pm for Introduction and briefing
On the water from: 6.30pm to 8.00pm
You are welcome to come along for a practice paddle and warm up on the boards any time from 5.00pm onwards until the briefing at 6pm.
Venue: Channel View Leisure Centre, Jim Driscoll Way, CF117HB
Facilities: There is free parking on site and hot showers, changing rooms available at the centre which is open until 10pm
What to wear: Please make sure you have suitable footwear to use on the water. For this time of year we recommend a warm thermal layer or a shorty/summer wetsuit. If you a re a regular paddle boarder please wear what you are most comfortable with and bring a change of clothes.
Alex from Naish will bring along 12 Naish One fun race boards (These are not as narrow as more dedicated race boards and easier to use). We will have an hour where paddlers can come down, try the boards and get used to everything from 5.30pm onwards.
Once everyone is there we will organise the heats to start our fun races from 6.30, swapping riders over after each set to get everybody a few races experience in each. We then start the sprint format with everyone paddling two sprint heats, taking the top ten through to a final and everyone else gets into the ‘Wild Card’ where they get one more chance to get through to the final.
Paddlers can be on the water from 5.30pm to try boards and we will start the sprints at 6.30pm which is the latest start incase you can only arrive just before!
Please check out their website www.n1sco.co.uk to find out more about N1SCO and the great opportunity to join in their fun race events across the UK! Local Riders Kerry Baker and Sarah Perkins will also be on hand to share their experience of this great series and events so far!
Look forward to a fun night paddling with Coach Jim & Alex from Naish SUP UK
