  • Intro to Sup group course. This is the perfect course if you are wanted to have a go at paddle boarding and master the basics with a group of friends at a time convenient for you. The minimum number for the course to go ahead is 4 and we can take up to 10 people per course. The cost is £40 per person. During the intro course you will learn the basic skills of stand up paddle boarding from a qualified instructor in a fun friendly manner along with the safety aspects to enabling you to join in with our club paddles. The course include two hours tuition from fully qualified instructors along with Sup, paddle and bouyancy aid hire. Great for corporate meetings, partys and a fun get together.   • SUP CLUB - NIGHTS - SPECIAL EVENT

    To follow on from our last litter pick when we were inspired to ‘turn the tide on single use plastic’ we will be helping to clean the river Taff again and collect as much recyclable rubbish that we can along with the support of BBC Wales X-Ray program and special guest paddler Lucy Owen.
    BBC Wales news and broadcast team have shown a great interest in supporting this fantastic cause and will be filming on the night for a special feature with our local club and the harbour authority to further raise awareness and help us to improve the condition of our local water ways in the rivers and Cardiff Bay
    By signing up to take part in this special club night paddle, you agree that the BBC can film the occasion and may choose to use and televise footage  both broadcast and online that you may be featured in.
    This evening is free of charge, is open to club members and non club members BUT you must have previous paddle boarding experience.
    Meeting at: Channel View Leisure Centre, Jim Driscoll Way, CF117HB What to wear:  Please make sure you have suitable footwear to use on the water.  If you are a regular paddle boarder please wear what you are most comfortable with and bring a change of clothes.   • SUP CLUB - NIGHTS

    NEW WEEKEND PADDLE!!! OCTOBER 5th FROM 4P.M. These are our regular meets, great fun to paddle with others with an interest in SUP'ing. The nights include:
    • Advanced SUP techniques from qualified instructors
    • Open water and river paddles, exploring some of the best areas of South Wales on a SUP
    • Fun and chat - it's a social event, if you are looking for competitive race nights then let us know as that is a different product

  • 11th July - Save this date and book on.....it's FREE!! Thursday 11th July we are hosting a FREE ‘fun SUP night & DEMO’ with RED Paddle Co showcasing their full range of inflatable paddle baords from beginner to touring, and Race to the multi person Dragon Boards! They are bringing up a load of boards for us to try and learn new core skills,  with some great SUP action, top paddling tips and fun Dragon races to finish off
    This is a very relaxed evening open to all paddlers including non-members, so you can turn up at any time that suits between 4pm and 8pm to try any of the boards and we will be on hand for product and technique advice.
    Anyone can come along so long as you have some experience on a paddle board.……please book your FREE place here!   • This Thursday we are hosting a FREE ‘fun SUP night’ with Naish ‘Nisco' One Design inflatable Race Boards! They are bringing up a load of boards for us to try and learn new core skills,  with some great SUP action, top paddling tips and fun races to finish off! Anyone can come along so long as you have some experience on a paddle board.……please book your FREE place here! When: Thursday 18th may Start Time: 6pm for Introduction and briefing On the water from: 6.30pm to 8.00pm You are welcome to come along for a practice paddle and warm up on the boards any time from 5.00pm onwards until the briefing at 6pm. Venue: Channel View Leisure Centre, Jim Driscoll Way, CF117HB Facilities:  There is free parking on site and hot showers, changing rooms available at the centre which is open until 10pm What to wear:  Please make sure you have suitable footwear to use on the water.  For this time of year we recommend a warm thermal layer or a shorty/summer wetsuit.  If you a re a regular paddle boarder please wear what you are most comfortable with and bring a change of clothes. The format: Alex from Naish will bring along 12 Naish One fun race boards (These are not as narrow as more dedicated race boards and easier to use). We will have an hour where paddlers can come down, try the boards and get used to everything from 5.30pm onwards. Once everyone is there we will organise the heats to start our fun races from 6.30, swapping riders over after each set to get everybody a few races experience in each. We then start the sprint format with everyone paddling two sprint heats, taking the top ten through to a final and everyone else gets into the 'Wild Card' where they get one more chance to get through to the final. Paddlers can be on the water from 5.30pm to try boards and we will start the sprints at 6.30pm which is the latest start incase you can only arrive just before!   • Sunday 8th December Island SUP will join ‘The Cardiff Santa and Elf Dash’ for Welsh Hearts. We will launch from Channel View Leisure Centre at 11.30AM and paddle towards Mermaid Quay to meet those dashing. After paddling we will go for drinks/ food at the Cedar Tree Farm, CF11 0JR. Prize for best dressed. Please wear appropriate clothing for winter paddling (under your costume 🎅). Contact us if you’re unsure of what to wear. PFDs are mandatory.
